Flowers

We believe that the ideal garden is a balanced combination of both annual and perennial flowers. Perennial flowers provide the canopy, while annual flowers provide that pop of colour that we have long associated with perfect summer days!

We carefully consider which perennials to offer you. Ideally, we hope to carry long flowering perennials that offer colour, are native to our area, drought tolerant, resistant to deer and are beneficial to insects, butterflies and bees.

Annuals are a fast and great way to add colour to any landscape or outdoor space that lasts throughout the summer season. We offer a variety of annuals of different colours, heights and forms, in both sun and shade options that, for your convenience, are organized into 3 categories: Thriller, Filler and Spiller.

Using the concepts of Thriller, Filler and Spiller will help you create, every time, a beautiful, three-dimensional planter. Just be sure to match the light requirements for each plant to the location.

Light levels are defined the same for all plants. As a general guideline:

Full Sun = Direct, unfiltered sunlight for at least 6 hours per day. Many plants that are considered Partial Sun can take Full Sun during the morning hours as long as they are protected from direct afternoon sun.

Partial Sun = 4-6 hours of direct sun per day, including some afternoon sun.

Partial Shade = 4-6 hours of direct sun per day, mostly before midday

Full Shade = Less than 4 hours of direct sun per day
